So how does personal training work?

THE FIRST SESSION
Our first session is a consultation involving a lot of talking about you! With this session we try to get as broad a picture of you as we can such as your lifestyle, your exercise history and what you want to achieve from your personal training sessions. We do health checks such as blood pressure and body fat analysis and also do some strength and endurance assessments to ascertain at what level to start your training. This holistic picture of you helps us to work with you to set achievable exercise goals and to design a programme for you that you will enjoy and to which you will keep up in the long term. This session can take anything from 1 – 1.5 hours.

WEEKLY SESSIONS
After that we kick into our weekly sessions which are generally 1 hour long covering mobility, aerobic exercise, strength and conditioning exercises, posture-correction exercises, core conditioning and flexibility. We vary our workouts to make them interesting, enjoyable and motivating for you.

How many sessions a week? This depends on your goal, your time available, your motivation to workout on your own and of course your budget.

Get Started (3 sessions):
For those who just need direction. This involves doing a lifestyle analysis, fitness assessment, programme development and diet analysis over the first 2 sessions with the final session 1 month later to ensure you are keeping to your exercise routine and to make any necessary adjustments to your programme. You can then book on a session-by-session basis as required to refresh your programme or choose from the packages below.

Motivator (6 sessions):
For those who need a kick-start with a little more motivation to keep up your exercise routine. It includes a lifestyle analysis, fitness assessment, programme development and diet analysis with more regular contact with your trainer.

Motivator Plus (10 sessions):
For those with longer-term goals and who may need more than one session per week. It includes a lifestyle analysis, fitness assessment, programme development and diet analysis, all with extra encouragement and support from your trainer.


Where? Sessions are held at Ocean Fitness Leisure Club in Salthill, Galway. We also like to bring our clients outdoors, weather permitting.

COST
The cost of each session includes our workout together plus regular food diary analysis, programme design, gym or home workout design, holiday workout design, informational handouts, access to our fitness resource library, newsletters and anything else we can do to help you get the most out of your training.
